(EC No.: 188.8.131.52)
Mannanase is a lytic enzyme that catalyzes the random hydrolysis of mannans and their derivatives which are mainly found in plants.
Mannanase is also known as endo-1,4-β-mannanase, endo-1,4-β-mannase, endo-1,4-beta-mannosidase, and others. Mannanase enzyme is the second most important enzyme in the hydrolysis of hemicellulase after xylanase enzyme. Mannanase enzyme finds application in various industries like- paper and pulp, food, feed, oil, textile and pharmaceutical industry.
Prime Industrial Uses:
Mannanase enzyme is used for bioleaching in the paper and pulp industry for the removal of lignin molecules.
Used as hydrolytic enzymes in the detergent industry because they provide high cleaning functionality.
Used as a feed additive for the animals which enhances the nutritional intake in animals and fish.
Used in enhancing the yield of coffee during coffee production.
Used as a slime control agent in the cooling and wastewater treatment plants.
