Glucose oxidase

Also known as GOD. This enzyme is widely used in making biosensors to detect the glucose levels in blood or serum.  It is a flavoprotein, which catalyses the oxidation of glucose.

Functional properties:

  • pH: 5.5

  • Temperature: 37-45°C

Prime industrial use:

  •  Manufacturing of biosensors for glucose diagnostic

  •   Food preservation additives

  •   Production of reduced alcohol wine

  •  Production of H2O2 for textile bleaching
